WHAT IS EBOO?
EBOO (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation) is a medical wellness procedure that uses a closed-loop system to circulate blood outside the body through a specialized filtration and oxygenation process before returning it.
Sessions are conducted in a monitored clinical setting under physician oversight and require medical clearance prior to treatment.
Your journey to better health starts with one simple step.
Oxygen, Ozone, and Wellness
Oxygen plays an essential role in cellular energy production and overall body function. In wellness environments, ozone has been explored for its oxidizing properties and is sometimes incorporated into advanced wellness therapies under controlled conditions.
At Detoxity MediSpa, ozone use is handled with strict safety protocols and professional oversight to support a controlled and comfortable environment.

Choose the path that's right for your wellness journey.
Two Ways to Begin
Every EBOO treatment begins with a required medical clearance to determine whether you're an appropriate candidate. For patients seeking a more personalized evaluation, our comprehensive physician consultation provides an in-depth review of your health history, symptoms, laboratory results, and wellness goals, along with individualized recommendations and a tailored care plan before treatment.
EBOO Medical Clearance
Every patient must be medically screened before receiving EBOO.
The clearance process generally includes:
- Review of required laboratory results
- Review of relevant medical history
- Review of current medications
- Evaluation of potential contraindications
- Determination of eligibility
- Authorization to proceed when medically appropriate
Medical clearance does not guarantee that a patient will qualify for treatment.
Laboratory testing and clearance fees are separate from the cost of the EBOO session.
Comprehensive Physician Consultation — $150
Patients may schedule an in-person consultation with our on-site physician before beginning EBOO or at any point during their wellness journey.
This is more comprehensive than the standard clearance evaluation.
During the consultation, the physician may:
- Discuss your symptoms and primary concerns
- Review your medical history
- Review current medications and supplements
- Review recent laboratory results
- Discuss previous treatments and responses
- Identify concerns that may require further evaluation
- Determine whether EBOO is appropriate to consider
- Recommend additional laboratory testing when medically indicated
- Develop a personalized medical and wellness plan
- Recommend other appropriate Detoxity services
- Refer you to another medical provider or specialist when necessary
The consultation fee does not include laboratory testing, EBOO treatment or other recommended services.
Medical Guidance
You May Meet With the Physician at Any Stage
Meet with our on-site physician whenever you need personalized medical guidance. Whether before treatment, between sessions, or as your health needs change, expert support is available throughout your EBOO journey.
You do not have to schedule the physician consultation before your first EBOO session.
Patients may request a physician appointment:
- Before deciding whether to pursue EBOO
- After completing the standard medical-clearance process
- Between EBOO sessions
- When new symptoms or concerns arise
- When progress does not meet expectations
- When they want a broader medical review
- When they want recommendations beyond EBOO
The physician consultation is an additional resource for patients who want more individualized medical guidance.
Personalized Care Recommendations
Personalized Recommendations Beyond EBOO
EBOO may not be the only service the physician discusses.
After reviewing your health history, laboratory findings, symptoms and goals, the physician may recommend other services available through Detoxity when appropriate
Recommendations may include:
✓ IV hydration or nutrient therapy

✓ Lymphatic drainage therapy
✓
Colon hydrotherapy
✓ Hocatt® ozone sauna

✓
Follow-up with primary care or a specialist
These services are not automatically required or included with EBOO. Any recommendation should be individualized and based on the physician’s professional assessment.
What Happens During EBOO?
During your EBOO treatment, blood is gently circulated through a specialized extracorporeal system before being continuously returned to your body. Our clinical team monitors you throughout the session to ensure your comfort and safety. Before treatment begins, we'll explain the procedure, equipment, and what to expect. EBOO complements—not replaces—your primary or specialized medical care.
EBOO is not a substitute for emergency care, primary care, specialist care or treatment prescribed for a diagnosed medical condition.
Who May Consider Scheduling a physician consultation?
A consultation may be appropriate for adults who:
- Are interested in learning more about EBOO
- Want a medically supervised wellness evaluation
- Have questions about whether their health history affects eligibility
- Want their laboratory results reviewed
- Have concerns about their current wellness plan
- Want physician guidance before pursuing advanced wellness services
Eligibility is determined individually. Interest in the procedure does not mean that treatment is medically appropriate.
EBOO is not a substitute for emergency care, primary care, specialist care or treatment prescribed for a diagnosed medical condition.
Medical Clearance Requirements
Medical clearance is required before EBOO therapy.
Current Detoxity requirements include:
- Complete Blood Count

Additional testing may be requested based on the patient’s medical history, symptoms or physician assessment.
Important:

- Medical-clearance fees are additional.
- A consultation or laboratory review does not guarantee eligibility.
- Final requirements are determined by the reviewing medical provider.

EBOO eligibility must be evaluated individually.
Treatment may be postponed or declined when the medical provider identifies concerns involving:
- Abnormal laboratory findings
- Significant anemia
- G6PD deficiency

- Inability to obtain safe IV access
- Certain clotting or bleeding concerns
- Unstable medical conditions
- Pregnancy
- Active infection or acute illness

EBOO FAQS
EBOO (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation) therapy circulates a portion of blood outside the body through a closed system where it is filtered, oxygenated, and then safely returned under medical supervision.
Is EBOO therapy safe?
EBOO therapy is performed under medical oversight using established protocols. Eligibility is determined through consultation, screening, and required lab work to support a safe and appropriate experience.
How is hygiene and sterilization handled during EBOO therapy?
All tubing used during EBOO therapy is single-use and disposable. After each session, tubing is discarded as biohazardous medical waste. The EBOO machine itself does not come into direct contact with bodily fluids and functions as a pump and delivery system for oxygen and ozone within a closed circuit.
What lab work is required before EBOO therapy?
The required lab tests include:
CBC (Complete Blood Count)
G6PD (Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase)
Recent lab results may be used if they are within the last three months, or we can order labs through Quest Diagnostics. Results typically return within three business days.
Do I need a medical consultation before EBOO therapy?
Yes. A medical consultation is required to review health history, lab work, and determine eligibility before scheduling an EBOO session.
I have difficult or hard-to-access veins. Am I still a candidate for EBOO therapy?
Yes. Individuals with difficult veins may still be candidates. Vein access and suitability are evaluated by medical staff during consultation prior to treatment.
How long does an EBOO session take?
Once vein access is established, the active filtration portion of EBOO therapy lasts approximately one hour. Additional time is required for preparation, monitoring, and post-session observation.
How many EBOO sessions are typically recommended?
For individuals new to EBOO therapy, an initial series of three sessions is typically recommended. This allows the body to gradually adapt and helps establish a baseline experience before considering maintenance sessions.
What is the difference between EBOO and EBOO Safe?
EBOO Safe utilizes a larger, more sensitive filtration system designed for enhanced blood filtration. Package options and recommendations are discussed during consultation based on individual wellness goals.
I'm undergoing Cancer Treatment. Am I a candidate for EBOO?
We have many clients who are undergoing cancer treatment that also use EBOO. We have some who are treating it the holistic way, as well. We require medical clearance and coordination with your treating physician to determine what is right for you.
Do you provide EBOO in Houston?
Detoxity Holistic MediSpa is located in The Woodlands, TX. We routinely service individuals in The Woodlands, and Houston and surrounding areas. We even have some who come from out of state regularly.
